1:1 Leadership Coaching

What are the challenges for New Leaders and Managers?

The challenges of being in a new leadership/management role can be far ranging. There is the need to:

  • Acquire new knowledge quickly
  • Establish new working relationships
  • Juggle organisational and personal transitions
  • Manage expectations

Whilst at the same time maintaining a sense of personal equilibrium!

Often individuals can feel as though they have a huge mountain to climb and are unsure of where to look for the necessary support, to help them get to the top of the mountain. Often the immensity of the task is accompanied by feelings of anxiety, stress and uncertainty. Individuals can often experience a sense of ‘suspended paralysis.’ As a result their performance in their new role suffers.

We understand what this can feel like and so our 1:1 personalised Leadership Coaching Services are designed specifically to help new leaders and managers over come these ‘obstacles.’ The result is they can improve their performance and hence make a far greater contribution to achieving the organisation’s goals.

Our services help new leaders to be clear about:

  • How to create a personal vision for success that is in line with the vision of their organisation
  • How to set achievable goals and targets
  • How to identify obstacles and put in place successful strategies for overcoming them
  • How to create meaningful plans for action

The benefits are:

  • Improved managerial and interpersonal skills
  • Increased ability to identify and act upon individual development needs
  • Greater skill in managing workloads and identifying priorities
  • Increased sense of personal value and work satisfaction

Delivery

  • The number and length of sessions are agreed between the organisation/coachee and the coach.
  • In the initial meeting the organisation/coachee and the coach agree a shared set of principles for ensuring that the coaching relationship is successful; they also co-design the nature and content of the sessions.
  • Only after these have been agreed and the organisation and the coachee are happy with the coaching agreement, do the formal 1: 1 coaching sessions begin
