Integrity Coaching uses a personal profiling tool [DISC] to enable our clients to get a better understanding of:
- Their natural behavioural style and how it is displayed in the work environment
- Their strengths and areas for personal growth
- Their personal motivators and how they impact upon their professional conduct
- How their personal style interacts with others who have different personal styles and how to leverage this to develop positive relationships in the workplace.
What is DISC?
- The DISC system of assessing personality characteristics has been developed based upon the research and work of Dr William Marston, one of the most influential psychologists of the twentieth century
- It is a behavioral model that is used to categorize the way people interact
- DISC takes its name from the four participatory parts:
- DOMINANT: Forceful, Direct, Decisive and Pioneering
- INFLUENCING: Optimistic, Friendly, Talkative, and Charismatic
- STEADY: Patient, Loyal and Practical
- COMPLIANT: Precise, Sensitive, Analytical, and Diplomatic
- A person’s style of interaction involves more than the way s/he deals with other people; it also affects the way the person processes information and deals with emotions, as well as the kind of activities or jobs the person prefers and how s/he completes them.
- Everyone has traits of each DISC style.
- Nevertheless, most people display a noticeable tendency towards one style of interaction.
- The personal profile allows individuals to identify their predominate behavior style/s and develop a greater understanding of their own performance within any given context, as the assessment produces graphs which illustrate:
- How an individual sees him/her self
- How an individual performs under stress
- How an individual is seen in public
- All of which are used to enable individuals develop a coherent personal strategy for developing a high degree of inter and intra personal skill and success
