You’ve made it! I am sure there have been times this term, when you thought this day would never come! But here it is. The holidays have finally arrived.
Reports have been written, final meetings with parents and governors have taken place and goodbyes have been said to staff.
Given the frenetic nature of life as a School Leader, with a continuous flow of long meetings, challenging conversations and issues to resolve, it’s important that you use this time to get well-deserved time and space to rest, relax and re-energise ahead of the school year.
But perhaps just as crucially, the summer also offers a chance to gain some really valuable headspace, to reflect on the year that has passed, and above all, equip oneself for the new school year.
And so alongside plenty of rest and relaxation, it’s important that you also take this fantastic opportunity to devote some time for reflection, learning and preparation for the year ahead.
That’s why the Key for School Leaders and the Education for the Soul Conference will be teaming up to provide school leaders up and down the country with a dedicated week of School Leader Summer Chat designed to help give leaders a forum to:
– Share expertise, advice and best practice from their schools
– Discuss insights from their own experience
– Build their knowledge and learn from others
– Identify solutions and resources that can help prepare them for the year ahead.
How will it work?
The School Leader Summer Chat week will run from Monday 19th August to Friday 23rd August and it will consist of 5 days of stimulating online discussion, centred around the topics and areas that are of key interest or importance to you as a school leader.
Every morning between 9am and 11:30am, the chosen topic for the day will be shared on the Primary School Leaders Facebook Group.
This will be followed by a series of questions and resources provided by the Key for School Leaders and Integrity Coaching (hosts of the Education for the Soul Conference) to help facilitate the discussion and encourage debate.
Throughout the day, you will be able to add your own comments, thoughts on the subject. You will also be able to share any further questions and useful resources you may have on the subject.
What topics will be discussed?
The School Leader Summer Chat will focus on topics of key importance to the challenges and daily reality of school leadership, as chosen by you. The topics will be…
