About the Book – Learning to Walk in the Dark
Viv Grant’s new book, Learning to Walk in the Dark, is a deeply personal and practical guide for leaders navigating the inevitable struggles of life and work.
Drawing on her own recent recovery from cancer, Viv explores how we can meet our “Dark Nights of the Soul” with courage and creativity rather than fear.
Through a series of guided reflections and questions rooted in the 5 C’s of Inner Leadership — Curiosity, Commitment, Courage, Compassion, and Connection — the book offers a framework for:
- Facing challenges with honesty and resilience
- Rediscovering purpose and meaning during difficult times
- Reconnecting with what it truly means to be human and to lead with heart
More than a leadership text, this book is an invitation: to pause, reflect, and discover the light that can emerge even in the darkest of seasons.

A Unique Conversation
At the heart of the evening will be a series of powerful, honest conversations. Drawing on the 5 C’s of Inner Leadership from her book. Viv will guide three special guests through reflective questions about their own Dark Nights of the Soul— moments of struggle, growth, and renewal.
To close, the roles will be reversed: one of the guests will interview Viv herself, using the same 5 C’s framework, offering rare insights into her own journey and the inspirations behind Learning to Walk in the Dark.
