We are now accepting expressions of interest for this programme which commences in June 2020.

As a result of the current COVID-19 crisis, the challenge and complexity of the Headteacher role has grown exponentially.

Every school leader in the country has faced an enormous amount of change; personally and professionally. These are unprecedented times, for which there are no rule or guide-books. Everything has changed!

There is understandable anxiety about the current situation in which we all find ourselves. Feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, isolation and stress are prevalent.

Relationships with families, pupils and staff have changed. The speed of change has been swift, with little or no time for school leaders to make sense of both the here and now and also what the ‘new order’ might bring.

Therefore, this is a time when we need to be deliberate in pressing the pause button and finding time to reflect.

This is a time, when different types of conversation and leadership support are needed. This is a time, when attention can be turned away from thoughts of an impending OFSTED inspection, to instead thoughts of “what matters most” in education.

It is a time when we can be explicit and openly address the fact that we are all in a time of transition. A time that requires open and honest discussion about what this period signifies for us and collectively, how we can assist each other to find a way through to the other side.

It is for this reason we have developed our new “Staying Connected” Leadership Support Programme to provide bespoke support for school leaders as they navigate their way through this crisis.

Who is this offer for?

This eight week-long leadership development programme is for Headteachers and School Leaders who want to:

– Stay connected and in relationship with fellow Heads whilst social distancing measures remain in place

– Be a part of in-depth discussions around how to move both themselves and their schools forward in the coming months

– Identify meaningful solutions for addressing the unique challenges that have arisen for school leaders during this time

– Strengthen their own personal and professional resources for remaining well and focused on their sense of vocation and purpose

What will the programme explore?

The programme will explore key leadership challenges that have arisen as a result of the pandemic, such as:

 – Dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity

– Ethical decision making in a complex environment

– Responding to trauma

– Social isolation

– Managing the impact of rapid change

Programme Structure

The “Staying Connected” Leadership Programme consists of three elements:

1. Online Group Coaching Circles x 4

2. ZOOM Masterclass Discussions x 4

3. Confidential Support Community for School Leaders, that provides access to a wide range of bespoke leadership resources

ZOOM Masterclass Discussions

These one hour online video sessions will be facilitated by Viv Grant and feature two-three thought leaders from the education sector and beyond. In conversation with Viv, these thought leaders will explore a number of key themes that are pertinent for school leaders in these unprecedented times.

Group Coaching Circles

These one hour group coaching calls will be hosted for groups of around eight school leaders. Each group will be facilitated by either Viv Grant or an Integrity Coaching Associate. These groups will provide an opportunity for Heads to reflect on  key learning from the Masterclasses. They will also be a safe space for Heads to share, discuss and support one another.

Leadership Resources and Community

Each delegate will receive access to various bespoke leadership resources to complement their learning. They will also have the option to join an confidential online community of support.

“Amidst the challenges posed by the current crisis, this type of support programme is absolutely invaluable…”
